Easy Red Sauce
2 cans crushed or diced tomatoes
1 can tomato sauce
1 small can tomato paste
3 Tbsp dried basil
1 Tbsp dried oregano
1 tpsp dried onion
2 tpsp garlic powder
2 tpsp salt
2 Tbsp virgin olive oil
- Open all cans of tomatoes & put into sauce pot over low heat
- Combine all dried ingredients and olive oil stirring well and increasing the heat to medium high
- Keep stirring the sauce until you see small bubbles breaking through the top
- Reduce heat to low & let simmer for at least 30 minutes. Feel free to let it simmer for as long as you want, but be sure to keep stirring
Serves 4
Serve over pasta with meatballs & sausage, top with Parmesan cheese
